Head Teacher's Welcome

Welcome to Urchfont Church of England Primary School, a small village school at the heart of our community. With a real family feel, children of all ages are encouraged to work together, build friendships, and support one another as they learn.

Our nurturing, inclusive environment helps every child grow — developing their academic skills, social and emotional confidence, spiritual awareness, and creative expression. Curiosity is celebrated, every child is valued, and learning is an exciting journey full of discovery and joy.

Our school is guided by our Bible verse: “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). A vision that inspired our pupils and staff to reflect on what inner strength looks like for everyone at Urchfont School.

Inspired by these reflections, our six Christian values were born — Respect, Compassion, Perseverance, Joy, Wisdom and Courage — guiding how we learn, care for one another, and live together as a community.

The wellbeing of our children is central to all we do. We support their emotional health, ensure they feel safe, listened to and valued, and help them grow as compassionate individuals, who persevere through challenges and develop the resilience to succeed.

At Urchfont School, we do more than teach lessons — we nurture a love of learning, a strong sense of belonging, and a faith-filled foundation, that will stay with our children for life. We hope that as you explore our website, you will get a sense of the warmth, energy and commitment that makes Urchfont School such a special place to learn, grow and thrive.
